Obituary of Rita Franz

Rita Franz of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 71 years old. Rita was born on February 26, 1952 in The Bronx, NY to the late Orlando and the late Rose (Chiavelli) Cilenti.

Rita was employed as a sales associate with Kohls in Ledgewood, NJ for many years before retiring. She graduated Emerson High School in Bergen County and was a longtime resident of Hopatcong, NJ. In addition, Mrs. Franz was very involved in The Emerson Assembly of God Church where she formerly served as treasurer. Rita enjoyed crafting and spending time with her devoted family and friends.

Rita is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, Jonathan Franz, her sister, Rosary Bittmann, her brother, Ronald Cilenti and several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Rita's Life Celebration will be on Wednesday, February 21 from 9am to 11am at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, Landing. A Prayer Service will be held at 11:00at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Stanhope Union Cemetery, Mt. Olive Twp., NJ
