Obituary of Richard G. Kuncken

Richard George Kuncken of Stanhope passed away Sunday November 11, 2012 at Hackettstown Regional Medical Center, Hackettstown. He was 73. Born in Passaic, he has lived in Stanhope since 1972. He graduated from Rutherford High School and Fairleigh Dickinson University. Richard was employed for 30 years as a sales representative for Cococare Products Inc. in Dover. He has worked for the past 7 years for Sam's Club in Mt. Olive, most recently in the pharmacy. An Army Vietnam Era veteran, he enjoyed gardening, golf and playing darts. Richard was a lover of music and history but most of all he loved his family. Richard was a former member of both the Stanhope Board of Education and the Lenape Valley Board of Education, instrumental in the development of the Stanhope Express Youth Soccer Program, as well as, an active coach, the Finance Officer of American Legion Post #278 in Stanhope, Treasurer of the Stanhope Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Lake Hopatcong Darting Association, a committee member for Annual Toys for Tots Event at Growing Stage Theatre and was the Stanhope Municipal Chairman of the Sussex County Republican Committee. Beloved husband of Diana M. (nee:Marana). Devoted father of Richard D. and his wife Catherine and Robert and his wife Dawn. Loving grandfather of Derek, Dylan, Matthew and Kayla. Dear brother of Patricia Snyder, Susan George and the late George Kuncken. Cherished son of the late George and the late Eveleen (nee: Mitchell) Kuncken. Also survived by loving nieces.
