Obituary of George C. Ronecker

George C. Ronecker of Lake Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Newton Medical Center. He was 84 years old. George was born December 27, 1939 in Newark, NJ to the late George and late Anna (Mury) Ronecker.

George was a hardworking forklift operator employed by Hoffmann La Roche in Nutley, NJ for many years before retiring in 1995. George lived in Lake Hopatcong for more than 50 years. He enjoyed fishing, his model trains, and working on his vehicles. George liked to vacation in Lake George with his Mom, where he could fish every day. George was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church.

George is survived by his cherished friend Sheryl Steinmacher and her family who has known George for more than 50 years. Sheryl devotedly cared for him for the past 15 years. As George would say, "his PIA family friend". His longtime friend Pat Sammaro said that George was the best friend he ever had.

George's Life Celebration Services will include a Memorial Gathering to be announced in the near future. He will be laid to rest privately in the family plot at Rosedale Cemetery in Montclair, NJ.
