Obituary of JoAnn H. Penny

JoAnn H. Penny, 80, of Stanhope, NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday March 24, 2024 at Excelcare at Dover surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Passaic, NJ on June 27, 1943, to the late Joseph and the late Beatrice (Kroplick) Nieradka, JoAnn grew up in Clifton, Garfield and Saddle Brook and resided in Parsippany and Vineland prior to moving to Stanhope in 1971. JoAnn was a dedicated teacher, spending most of her career working for the Byram Township Board of Education where she worked for 25 years prior to her retirement in 2005.

Her hobbies included reading, shopping, bingo and playing the organ. JoAnn's greatest joy was spending time with her cherished family.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years; Robert, two sons; Thomas Penny (and wife, Meg) and Ian Penny and her six beloved grandchildren; Kyle, Ryan, Aidan, Danielle, Gavin and Zoey.

JoAnn's Life Celebration will include a memorial visitation on Friday, March 29, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850.
