Obituary of John P. Franciscus

John P. Franciscus of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024 at home. He was 64 years old. John was born on September 5, 1959 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Howard and the late Marion (O'Farrell) Franciscus. John was a long-time resident of Hopatcong and a 1977 graduate of Hopatcong High School. He was employed by the Benjamin Moore Paint Company in several capacities throughout the years. John was a parishioner of St. Jude RC Church in Hopatcong and he enjoyed spending quality time with his large loving family. John was a great conversationalist – he enjoyed endless conversations about movies, history and current affairs. John is survived by his loving siblings, Jeanne Grau (John), Mary Betsy (Stephen) and Robert Franciscus (Kathleen). Additional survivors include his brother-in-law, Glenn Doran (Denise) and his cherished nieces & nephews; Robert, Brian, Meghan, Maggie, Bridget, Ted, Jack, Colette and Aidan. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his sister, Virginia Doran in 2009. John's Life Celebration Services will include a funeral mass on Monday, April 8th at 11:00 am at St. Jude RC Church, 40 Maxim Drive, Hopatcong, NJ. Family and friends are invited to meet directly at Church on Monday morning. John will be laid to rest with his parents at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ immediately following the funeral mass.
