Obituary of Benjamin Dalessandro

Benjamin "Benny" Dalessandro of Netcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, June 10, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 82 years old. Benny was born on January 22, 1942 in Morristown, NJ to the late Benjamin and the late Caroline (Siciliano) Dalessandro.

Benny owned and operated Rea's Tavern in Netcong for many years before retiring. He was also employed as a crossing guard for the Borough of Netcong. Benny proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a lifelong parishioner of St. Michael's RC Church in Netcong. Benny was a member of the Assumption Society and the Netcong Sports Club. Benny enjoyed playing cards, fishing, taking chances on the NJ Lottery and trips to North Wildwood but most importantly, he loved spending time with his cherished family.

Benny is survived by his beloved wife, Dolores (Rea), his devoted children; Benjamin Dalessandro, Jr. and his wife, Victoria and Marianne Callahan and her husband, Mick and his cherished grandchildren; Andrew Dalessandro, Sydney Theriault, Emma Theriault and Michael Theriault. Additional survivors include his sister, Carol King and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was pre-deceased by son, Vincent Dalessandro in 2016 and his sister, Marie Jones.

Benny's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Wednesday, June 12th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850. There will be a funeral mass on Thursday, June 13th at 11:00 am at St. Michael' RC Church, 4 Church Street, Netcong, NJ. Cremation services will be private following the conclusion of the funeral mass. All services are entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ.
