Obituary of Anthony Pastore

Anthony "Tony" Pastore, 88, of Hopatcong died peacefully on Wednesday June 26, 2024 at The Oaks at Denville surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Brooklyn, NY on January 27, 1936 to the late Vincent and the late Jennie (Ferrante) Pastore, Tony has resided in Hopatcong since 1973. He served proudly in the United States Marine Corps. Tony was a Bus Driver for the City of New York and after retirement, he was the owner/operator of the Hopatcong Shell Service Station.

Tony was a passionate NY Yankees fan, member of St. Jude RC Church in Hopatcong and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a dedicated volunteer at St. Clare's Hospital Dover Campus for 21 years. He also enjoyed playing golf, cooking and woodworking. Tony's greatest joy in life was spending time with his beloved family.

In addition to his parents, Tony was predeceased by his wife; Frances, brother; Vincent Pastore, sister Margaret Pellegrino and brother-in-law; Anthony Pellegrino, sister-in-law; Lenore Pastore and brother-in-law; Donald Tuzio.

Survivors include four children; James Pastore, Jeannie Baunach and husband Glenn, Frances Crouch and husband Joe and Toni Joy Pastore, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, brother; Frank Pastore and his wife; Izabel, sister-in-law; Rosemary Tuzio and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Tony's Life Celebration will include visiting on Monday, July 1, from 4:00-8:00 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, July 2, beginning at 10:00 AM at St. Jude RC Church in Hopatcong. Tony will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery in Hackettstown immediately following Mass. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Special Olympics at www.specialolympics.org.
