Obituary of Marjorie L. Francomacaro

Marjorie L. Francomacaro of Netcong, NJ passed away peacefully and in the loving arms of her family on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at her home that she built with her late husband, "Spike". She was just 2 weeks short of 100 years old. Marjorie was born on August 8, 1924 in Peapack, NJ to the late John and the late Florence (Blazure) Ulmer.

A lifelong resident of Netcong, Marjorie was also a longtime parishioner of St. Michael RC Church. She was employed at Dover Handbag and Lenape Valley High School as well as a bus driver for children with special needs. Marjorie's greatest joy in life was her role as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, reading, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, but most importantly, Marjorie cherished her large and loving family every day of her life.

Marjorie is survived by her devoted children; Mario Francomacaro (Carol), Frank Francomacaro (Donna), Rosemarie Osiecki (Lawrence), Anthony Francomacaro (Darlene) and Annamarie Sponaugle (Michael). Additional survivors include her cherished grandchildren; Joseph Francomacaro (Michelle), Lindsay Schell (Danny), Justin Francomacaro (Kelly), Joel Francomacaro (Jennifer), Jessica Sponaugle and her partner, Sheri Shifren, Micaela Sponaugle, David Francomacaro (Michelle), Melissa Francomacaro (Dan), Ryan Vanemburg, Joan Cornine, Larry Porter (Kelly), Ken Porter (Stacy) and Jeff Porter (Christina), her great-grandchildren, Logan and Cole Sacks, Erica, David, Katelyn & Khloe Schell, Justin John Francomacaro (Jack), Jacob Porter, Skye Porter, Stephanie, Kevin and 6 great-great grandchildren and her siblings; Florence Gallo (Peggy) and Alice Redfield, her daughter-in-law Debbie Mifsud.

Marjorie was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Mario "Spike" Francomacaro in 2002, her son, Joseph Francomacaro in 2013, her sisters, Martha Kooger and Dorothy Gibbs and her brothers, Frank Ulmer, John Ulmer and Charles Ulmer.

Marjorie's Life Celebration will include a Funeral Mass on Monday, July 29th at 12:00 pm at St. Michael RC Church, 4 Church Street, Netcong, NJ. Marjorie will be laid to rest with her husband at Stanhope Union Cemetery in Mt. Olive Twp., NJ immediately following the funeral mass. Family & friends are invited to meet directly at the church on Monday morning. All services are entrusted to the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home of Landing, NJ. For memorial donations please consider the Hilltop Fire Company #2 at 49 College Road, Netcong, NJ 07857 or the Assumption Society at PO Box #373, Netcong, New Jersey 07857.

In addition, the family will be having a Celebration of Life Service for Marjorie at the Stillwater Fire Department to be announced by the family in the future.
