Obituary of Anthony Loffredo

Anthony "Tony" Loffredo, 92, of Hopatcong, NJ, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2024 after a brief stay at Merry Heart Assisted Living. Born in Staten Island, New York, Tony was a Korean War Veteran, earning the United Nations Service medal. the Korean Service medal, the Presidential Unit Citation and the National Defense Service medal.

After leaving the service, Tony worked at the Federal Reserve Bank in New York City, where he met and married Annette Connaughton. When they both retired from the Bank after 30+ years, they moved to Hopatcong NJ.

Tony is survived by his brother Pat Loffredo and wife Barbara of Orange, VA, and brother Joseph Loffredo and daughter Jennife and her husband Paul Alvarez, of Staten Island NY, and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Annette Connaughton Loffredo, and brothers Michael Loffredo and Dominick Loffredo.

Special appreciation goes to Tony's dear friends Nicky and Craig Braun, and Mike and Geri Downey, who helped him so generously and lovingly with anything he needed, for a number of years, and even more so in his final days. The family is grateful that Tony was so blessed to have these wonderful people in his life.

Arrangements by Leber Lakeside Funeral Home are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Jude RC Church would be appreciated.
