Obituary of Diana B. Palumbo

Diana B. Palumbo, 87, of Netcong, NJ passed away peacefully at home on Monday September 2, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Dover, NJ on May 23, 1937 to the late Joseph and the late Adaline (Andoli) Bencivenga, Diana has resided in Netcong all her life. She earned her Master's degree in Education from Kean College in 1981 and served as the Vice Principal of the Tinc Road School in Mt. Olive Township before retiring in 1996.

Diana was a devoted parishioner of St. Michael Church in Netcong, a member of Knights of Columbus Columbiettes, the NJEA, Friday Dominoes Club, Red Hat Society and various Senior Citizen Clubs.

Diana was predeceased by her beloved husband; Samuel Palumbo, Jr.

Survivors include three children; Samuel Palumbo III (Lynnea), Joseph Palumbo Sr. (Barrie) and Michael Palumbo (Debra), eight grandchildren; Samuel Palumbo IV, (Olivia) Nicholas Palumbo, Justin Palumbo, Krystina Palumbo, Joseph Palumbo, Jr.(Monica), Danielle Miller (Robert), Megan McKiernan (Ryan) and Michael Palumbo (Gina), seven great grandchildren; Romeo and Nolan Miller, RJ and Molly McKiernan, Carson and Remi Palumbo and Kaidyn Palumbo.  She was pre-deceased by her beloved sister; Milane Young.

Diana's Life Celebration will include visiting hours on Thursday September 5th from 4:00-8:00 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A funeral Mass will be offered on Friday September 6th beginning at 8:00 AM at St. Michael RC Church, Netcong. All family and friends are invited to meet directly at church prior to Mass. Diana will be laid to rest at Stanhope Union Cemetery immediately following Mass. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
