Obituary of Louis A. Scachetti

Louis A. Scachetti of Byram Twp., NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was 78 years old. Louis was born on December 9, 1945 in Englewood, NJ to the late Louis and the late Beatrice (Cece) Scachetti.

A longtime resident of Byram Twp., Louis proudly served his country in the United States Army and he was an active member of The American Legion. Mr. Scachetti was a dispatcher at Electronic Drives and Controls in Parsippany, NJ for many years before retiring. Louis was a patient of and a volunteer at The Dialysis Center of Northwest Jersey and later he was a recipient of a donor kidney. Louis took great pride in refinishing his antique truck and had a special place in his heart for animals. Louis had many interests including, gardening, sports and grilling but most importantly, he cherished his time with his loving family.

Louis is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Jo Ann (nee Lombardi), his brothers-in-law; Joseph Lombardi and wife, Adrienne and Gerard DeFranco and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Louis was pre-deceased by his sister, Joyce DeFranco and his brother-in-law, Albert "Jerry" Lombardi.

Louis's Life Celebration Services will include a Visitation on Friday, October 11th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with a Catholic Prayer Service offered 1:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850. Louis will be laid to rest with Full Military Honors at the Northern New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 75 North Church Road in Sparta, NJ.
