Obituary of Ralph A. Simmerano

Ralph Simmerano, 80, of Netcong, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Kindred Hospital, Dover Campus, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Netcong, NJ on August 8, 1944 to the late Rocco and the late Louise (Esposito) Simmerano, Ralph was a life-long resident. Ralph was a graduate of Netcong High School, Class of 1962 and also attended the University of Louisville. He served proudly in the Army National Guard from 1966-72. Ralph worked as a technical draftsman at Automatic Switch Company in Florham Park for prior to his retirement.

Ralph was a passionate supporter of Notre Dame, Virginia Tech and Iowa State Football, he loved his dogs Rusty and Lady and loved watching his grandchildren play sports. He was also a Netcong School Crossing Guard and a past Grand Knight of the Netcong Knights of Columbus. Above all else, Ralph was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother whose greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Maria (Preziosi), children Maria Swift and husband; John and Dr. Rocco Simmerano and wife; Susanne, grandchildren; Joseph, Thomas, Lauren, John IV and Anthony and a sister; Frances Simmerano.

Ralph's Life Celebration will include a memorial visitation on Friday October 11, 2024 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Saturday October 12, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Therese Church, 151 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ. Family and friends are invited to meet directly at church prior to Mass. Ralph will be laid to rest at Stanhope Union Cemetery, Mt. Olive Township.
