Obituary of Joseph R. Valentino, Jr.

Joseph R. Valentino, Jr. 95 of The Villages, FL passed away on October 7, 2024. Born August 16, 1929 in Port Morris, NJ to the late Guiseppe Valentino and Isabelle Valentino (Casella).

Joseph was an attorney providing legal council for over 30 years for the townships of Mt. Arlington, Hopatcong, Allamuchy, Stanhope, Kinnelon and Netcong. His started his career in December 1961by graduating Ohio State University with a Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Laws. In May 1962 he received his  Admission to the Supreme Court of Ohio, May 1963 his Admission to Supreme Court of New Jersey and October 1981his Admission to Supreme Court of The United States of America.

Joseph was a Member of the Newton Country Club, Lake Hopatcong Yatch Club and the Knights of Columbus. He loved to travel, play golf, pinnocle, sailing and boating.

Joseph is survived by his life partner Elizabeth Wingle, his children Joseph, Elizabeth and Erik. He is also survived by his siblings Isabel Gibson and Salvatore Valentino. He is predeceased by his other siblings Ralph, Anthony, Grace, Victor and Dolly

Joseph’s Life Celebration will be on Saturday, October 26 from 9am to 11am at Leber Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A prayer service will be held at 11am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Stanhope Union Cemetery, Mt. Olive Twp., NJ.
