Obituary of William C. Edwards

William Clarence Edwards, 62, of Byram Township, NJ passed away unexpectedly on October 3, 2024 in Ft. Myers, Florida.

Born in Morristown on April 9, 1962 to the late Jacques and the late Margaret Edwards, “Bill” grew up in Stanhope prior to moving to Byram Township 21 years ago. 

Bill was a Chief Security Officer of data security for several financial corporations.  He was known throughout his profession for skillful and out of the box ideas to problem solving.

Bill enjoyed playing golf and trips to Disney World where he and his family visited every year.  Above all else, Bill’s greatest joy was spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his son, William, Jr. Edwards (Billy) and a brother John Edwards.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Theresa Edwards, two daughters, Sarah Yagham and her husband Yacoub, and Samantha Edwards and her wife Katie, two grandchildren Isla and Malak Yagham, one sister Jane Edwards, and one sister -in-law Barbara Edwards.  Also surviving are nieces and nephews: Scott Daingerfield and family, Kenneth (JR) Daingerfield and family, Julia Edwards and Timothy Edwards and family.

Bill’s Life Celebration will include a memorial visitation on Saturday November 2, 2024 from 1:00-3:00 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ.  The visitation will be immediately followed by a family eulogy service. 

A graveside service will be held on Monday November 4, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Stanhope Union Cemetery, 1 Continental Drive, Netcong, NJ.  All are invited to meet directly at the cemetery prior to services.  In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
