Obituary of Julio Torres Sr.

Julio Torres, Sr. of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, October 18, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 87 years old. Julio was born on January 26, 1937 in Havana, Cuba to the late Manuel and the late Carmen (Seoane) Torres.

Julio emigrated from Cuba to the United States in the 1960's. He and his late wife, Xiomara resided in Culer Bay, Florida before moving to Hopatcong 10 years ago. Mr. Torres was a Store Manager for Pathmark in Newark, NJ for many years before retiring. Julio was an avid New York Yankee Fan but most importantly, he cherished his quality time with his loving family.

Julio is survived by his devoted son, Julio Torres, Jr. and many extended family and friends. He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Xiomara Torres in 2021 and his brothers, Manuel and Fernando.

Julio's Life Celebration Services will include a visitation on Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850. There will be a Catholic Prayer Service on Friday, October 25th at 10:00am also at the Funeral Home. Julio will be laid to rest with his beloved wife at Holy Cross Mausoleum, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ immediately following the Prayer Service.
