Obituary of Virginia Jaick

Beloved Mother, Nana and Sister, Virginia "Ginger" Jaick, 80, of Hopatcong, NJ passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 surrounded by her family. Ginger was born on April 9, 1944 to the late Martin and Mary "Mae" Mannion.

Ginger was the second youngest of five girls and grew up in Washington Heights in New York. She attended Incarnation Elementary School and St. Alphonsus High School. She was a longtime resident of Hopatcong, NJ after settling there with her young family in 1973. She started working at the Calais School in Whippany, NJ as a part time secretary and went on to work full time and stay for over 30 years until her retirement.

Ginger was a lifelong Yankees fan and Giants fan. She also loved watching tennis and followed all of the players in their tournaments. She loved music and attended many concerts over the years. She shared over 30 years with her life partner Russ and was his dedicated caregiver. Most importantly she cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. She loved attending their events and watching them on the stage or on the playing field. Her "boys" brought her joy and they adored spending time with the best Nana ever. Her home was always open and many people would stop by to enjoy laughs and stories. She will be dearly missed.

Ginger is survived by her children Eric Jaick and his fiancé Annamarie Bautista and Genevieve Nikolsky and her husband Mark, and her grandsons Grant, Carter and Ryan. She is also survived by her sister Joan Coyle and her husband Jim, her sister Eileen Kehoe and her husband Dan, and her brother in law Billy Tenny; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ginger is predeceased by her loving partner Russell Baker and her sister Mary McGuinn and her husband Matty and her sister Margaret Tenny.
