Obituary of Frank J Santagata
Frank J. Santagata, 71, of Hopatcong, NJ passed away peacefully on (11/3/2024), at Riverwalk Village at the House of the Good Shepherd surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Queens, NY on March 9, 1953 to the late Joseph and Maria (Scalia) Santagata, Frank has resided in Hopatcong for over 40 years. Frank enjoyed fishing, railroad trips, cooking, hosting parties, exploring NJ in search of the state's best hot dog stands, babysitting his grandchildren, antique car shows and collecting vintage glass & pottery with his wife. Frank also spent a great deal of time on hobbies he shared with his son; paintballing, slot car racing, and flying model rockets to name a few. Many people in Hopatcong will know Frank for his involvement in local organizations and charities, and for his Facebook page that was focused on Hopatcong news and events.
Frank's greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Frank was a jack of all trades and held many different jobs throughout his life. In his younger years he was a Mechanic, a Restaurant Manager, and also installed and maintained commercial and residential security systems. In retirement he worked part time in Visitor Services at Stephens State Park in Hackettstown.
In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his sister Teresa Santagata and his brother-in-law Robert Adams.
Survivors include his wife Kendra René (Adams), one son Andrew Santagata and wife Jennifer (Murphy), two grandchildren; Lila Rose and Rocco Joseph Santagata, one sister; Valerie Eastman and three sisters-in-law; Randy Brantley and husband; Gary and Risé Vidovich and husband; Paul and Diana Adams. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Frank's Life Celebration will be announced in the near future.
