Obituary of Frank J. Gigantelli
Frank J. Gigantelli, 82, longtime Hopatcong resident, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 25, 2024 at Merry Heart Care Center in Succasunna, NJ surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Newton, NJ on March 6, 1942 to the late James and the late Anna (Semanchik) Gigantelli, Frank has resided in Hopatcong for 55 years. He was a graduate of Roxbury High School. Frank served proudly in the United States Air Force in the Vietnam War. He worked as an Audio/Visual Aide Specialist at Picatinny Arsenal for many years prior to retirement.
Frank enjoyed hunting, fishing and attending all his grandchildren's sporting events. His prize possession was his restored 1940 Chevy. He was a founding member of the Good Guys Car Club and the Wanderers Car Club. A day was never complete without his daily trip to Shop Rite. Most importantly, Frank's greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years; Lucille (Cospito), son; Jamie and his wife; Marie, daughter; Leanne Foth and her husband; Jeff, five grandchildren; Anthony, Rocco & Dominick Gigantelli and Luke and Alex Foth and a brother James.
Frank's Life Celebration will include a memorial Mass on Saturday, December 14 beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Jude RC Church, 40 Maxim Drive, Hopatcong, NJ 07843. Friends and family are invited to meet directly at church prior to Mass. All other services are private and entrusted to Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, Landing, NJ.
