Obituary of Barbara Ann Stracco
Barbara Ann Stracco, of Byram Township, NJ, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 29, 2024, at the age of 80. She was born on July 6, 1944, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Paul and the late Rita (D'Imperio) Natello.
Barbara resided in Byram Township for the past 55 years, having grown up in Philadelphia. She was a proud graduate of St. Maria Goretti High School and earned her bachelor's degree from Chestnut Hill College. While raising her family, she went on to earn her master's degree from Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ. Barbara's career in education began as a second-grade teacher at St. Joseph's School in Newton, NJ. Later, she transitioned into the corporate world, attending Chubb Institute and embarking on an almost 20-year career with The Chubb Group of Insurance Companies in Basking Ridge, NJ. She was thrilled to retire young and spend quality time helping to care for her beloved grandchildren.
Before joining Chubb, Barbara managed a racquetball club where she served as the resident pro and offered lessons.
Barbara was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and kept her mind sharp through her love of online video games. She was an active participant in online groups and forums, particularly enjoying games like The Sims and Klondike. A lover of a good debate, Barbara always kept up with current events and politics. One of her favorite weekly rituals was watching three episodes of Law & Order on Thursday nights with her daughter.
Barbara's most treasured moments, however, were spent with her small circle of family and friends, especially her 80th birthday celebration just months before her passing.
Surviving Barbara are her devoted daughter, Kerri Goodwin and her husband, Tom; her cherished grandchildren, Jenna and Tommy Goodwin, Katie and Matt Stracco, Evan Robicheau, and Myles and Helena Miller; her brother, Paul Natello (Barbara); her niece, Amy Natello (Tim); and her dearly loved feline companion, Piper.
