Obituary of Joseph Perfetti II

Joseph Perfetti, II. of Newton, NJ passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 67 years old. Joseph was born on April 30, 1957 in Dover, NJ to the late Joseph Sr. and the late Claire (Ulrich) Perfetti.

He was a 1975 graduate of Roxbury High School and a longtime resident of Port Morris, NJ before moving to Newton 4 years ago. Joseph was a tireless volunteer fire fighter who joined the Roxbury Engine Company #2 in Landing in 1975. During his fireman's career, Joseph proudly served as Department Chief for 4 terms. In addition, Joseph was a Life Member of the New Jersey State Fireman's Association and a Life Member of the New Jersey State Exempt Fireman's Association. He was a custodian employed by the Roxbury Board of Education for many years before retiring. Joseph's greatest joy in life was spending time with his loving family and his friends at the fire department.

Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Amy (Handy), his devoted children; Nikki Perfetti, Lisa Perfetti (Bobby), and Joseph R. Perfetti (Sarah), and his cherished grandchildren; William Cavanagh, Killian Cavanagh, Autumn Perfetti, Joseph Perfetti, Dylan DiDonato and Dalton DiDonato. Additional survivors include his, sister, Elaine Morrow (Matt), his brother, Anthony Perfetti (Kim), his father-in-law, Robert Handy, his sisters-in-law; Roberta Garrison and Cheryl Schwarz (Herbie), his brother-in-law, Ronald Constable and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.  Last but certainly not least, Joseph is also survived by his best friend and partner in crime, Robert Hackett (Barbara).

Joseph's Life Celebration Services will include a visitation on Wednesday, January 15th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a 7:30 pm Fireman's Prayer Service offered at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. There will be a Funeral Mass offered on Thursday, January 16th at 10:00 am at St. Therese RC Church, 15 Main Street, Succasunna, NJ 07876. Following the funeral mass on Thursday morning, there will also be a "Last Call Honor Service" conducted at the Roxbury Engine Company #2 at 110 Shippenport Road, Landing, NJ 07850. To show their appreciation for everyone's support there will also be a Repast Luncheon offered immediately following the Last Call Honor Service at the firehouse.
