Obituary of Vito Castoro

Vito C. Castoro, an active, respected and intricate member of the Hopatcong community passed away on Thursday September 27 at St. Clare's Hospital in Dover. He was 79. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Vito resided there prior to moving to Hopatcong 46 years ago. He served on the Hopatcong Town Council and was an active member of the Hopatcong Business League. Vito was the owner and operator of Sign Art Graphics in Hopatcong which is well know for its elaborate and festive Christmas displays during the holiday season. He also enjoyed his many vacations to Aruba with his beloved wife, Millie at his side. Vito was a very civic minded individual whose dedication to the people of the Borough of Hopatcong and the surrounding communities will be greatly missed. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother whose greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his 4 adoring grandchildren. Vito served in the US Army from 1953-1955 and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Devoted husband of 55 years of Millie, beloved father of Michael Castoro and Diane Lounsbery and husband William, cherished grandfather of Kristen and Michael Castoro and William, Jr. and James Lounsbery, dear brother of Michael, the late Joseph, the late Esther Valerio and the late Mary Trombetta. Survivors also include many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
