Obituary of James Boyce

James P. Boyce, of Hopatcong, NJ and Brooklyn, NY, passed away on Monday June 23 at his home in Hopatcong. He was 85. Born in Manhattan, James resided in the Bronx and Brooklyn prior to moving permanently to Hopatcong in 1986. He was a retired United States Merchant Marine and an avid sports fan. James enjoyed watching many sporting events, but is best known as a passionate New York Jets fan and season ticket holder. Loving husband of the late Kathleen, beloved father of James Boyce and wife, Arlene, Brian Boyce and Mary Sammartino, Maryann Boyce and Kevin Boyce and wife Mary Ellen, cherished grandfather of Kevin Boyce and Patrick Boyce and wife, Nicole, adoring great grandfather of Paris Leigh and dear brother of the late Lawrence Boyce. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to celebrate James' life on Thursday June 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday June 27 beginning at 10:30 am at St. Jude RC Church, 40 Maxim Drive, Hopatcong, NJ. James will be laid to rest at St. Raymond Cemetery, 2600 Lafayette Ave. Bronx, NY 10465.
