Obituary of Dorothy Stella DiRoma

Dorothy Stella DiRoma of the Heights section of Hopatcong died Monday July 9, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 80. Born in Newark, Dorothy resided in Hopatcong for 46 years. She was a homemaker and avid gardener. She enjoyed sewing and crafts, and much of her charity work included knitting hats for the newborn babies at local hospitals. Most of all, Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend whose greatest joy was the time she spent with her family and friends. Loving wife of Antonio Peter, beloved mother of Tony & wife Jill, Kathy Schuld and husband Fred, Fran Soranno and husband Bill and Christine McAvoy and husband Chuck. Adoring grandmother of Patrick & Scott DiRoma, Jennifer & Christina Soranno and Chuck, Kevin and Ryan McAvoy. Dear daughter of the late Pauline (Jaworski) Lensky. Dorothy was the oldest of seven daughters including Ginny Weis and husband Larry, Elaine Dziadzio and husband John, Sue Zlydaszek and husband Ted, Linda Palma and late husband Bob, Flo Reiss and husband Jack (both deceased) and the late Lucille Venturi and her surviving husband Billy. Also, sisters-in-law, Lucille Clarke and husband Richard (both deceased) and their son Richie, and Susan Pope and her son Joey and many nieces and nephews.
