My God.......I could not believe the news. RIchie was indeed the most responsible, caring, and dependable person that I have had the pleasure to know. We met at around 1974 at the white meadow lake clubhouse. From the get go he showed maturity and jut a heck of a nice kid. Was responsible for helping with children's events, aduLt events and senior events. That,s saying so much for a kid that certainly had other things to enjoy. But he was always there. I remember the FUnderama event which without him would have been almost impossible to have been the success that is was. Many times he would call me and ask if I wanted to go out on the lake on his boat and spend some special time together.

The Rosenblatt and Hansen families go back to Clifton, before Richard was born. Richard and my brother, Craig , did everything together as far back as I can remember. I don' t want to think about the trouble they got into together. Riding bikes who knows where from sun up to sun down all summer long if they weren't out on their boats in the middle of the lake. My sympathy goes out to his wife and children, Andrew, Karen and Eileen. Hugs to all

Daddy,
I may have only gotten nineteen years with you and I must say that will never be enough. So many people love you and came for you as I am sure you already know. I know you'll watch Matt and I grow and take care of Mom. You are my strength and will always be my hero. You were a beautiful person in life and will now be a beautiful angel. I first met Rich when we were working at Two Guys, 76' / 77'? Feels like a hundred years ago now. We all went our separate way & I now regret we never got together. I cherished the time we (Marjie,James,myself & the whole gang) spent together. Rich has an infectious laugh & personality that will be sorely missed. It is with a heavy heart that I say farewell. Richard and his family lived across the street from me in White Meadow Lake for many years. Rich and I were great friends since first grade and through our college years. We saw each other almost every day for twelve years. We took the school bus together. We had great fun exploring the large section of woods behind his house over those twelve years. We rode our bikes all over Rockaway during the summer and rode our sleds down the hill in his backyard during the winter (back when it seemed to snow 3 feet every week in wintertime).
It is impossible to think of my own childhood without thinking of Richard. He was and will always be an inseparable part of my youth. I have wonderful memories of hours of fun with Richard, but now all those memories will always be touched with sadness, for the memories are all that are left.
My deepest condolences to Richard's wife and children. You lost a fine man.
