Ida May (nee: O'Dell) Applegit of Kenvil passed away Monday June 11, 2012 at Compassionate Care Hospice, Dover. A loving, compassionate and kind woman, she was 90. Born in Rockaway, she has lived in Kenvil for over 70 years. Ida was an ammunition quality control inspector with Picatinny Arsenal in Rockaway and a quality control inspector for Co-Planner Inc. in Denville. A member of the Roxbury Senior Citizens, she enjoyed shopping, baking cakes and taking care of her family. Beloved wife for 70 years of Melvin H. Applegit, Sr. Devoted mother of Jill Gillette and her husband Dale M. Gillette, Jr. and the late Melvin H. Applegit, Jr. (2007). Dear mother-in-law of Lucille Applegit. Dear sister of James O'Dell Jr. and his wife Theresa and the late Madelyn Lampron. Dear sister-in-law of Violet Indyk. Cherished "Grandma" of Mark Applegit and his wife Michele and cherished "Nanny" of Melissa, Jamie and Douglas Gillette. Loving "G-Ma" of Matthew and Megan Applegit. Dear aunt of Michelle Osetek and her husband Craig, James O'Dell III and his wife Karen and many other nieces and nephews.
