Obituary of Peter DeMeo

Peter DeMeo, Jr., of Wharton, passed away on Monday March 19, 2012 at New York Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan. He was 73 years old. Born in Netcong to the late Peter and Vincetta (Guerra), Peter resided there prior to relocating to Wharton 32 years ago. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Ft. Benning, GA during his enlistment. Peter worked as a switchboard assembler and spray painter for Westinghouse in Randolph and was also a licensed pyrotechnician last working for DM Fireworks. He was also a member of the Assumption Society of Netcong. Peter was an avid coin collector, specializing in coins from around the globe. It was well known that he was a fun-loving practical joker. Devoted husband of Cheryl (Prisk), loving father of Michele DeMeo and Johann Becker of York, PA and Tara DeMeo and her spouse Bill Staufenberger of Wharton, adoring grandfather of Sydney and Piper Staufenberger of Wharton, dearest brother of Antoinette Romaine, Frank, Lewis, John, Michael, the late Rosemary Nunn and the late Samuel and favorite uncle to many nieces & nephews.
