Obituary of Michael Hargadon

Michael Hargadon, of Hopatcong, died Saturday February 4 at Barn Hill Care Center in Newton. He was 76. Born in County Sligo, Ireland to the late Patrick and the late Elizabeth (McLaughlin) Hargadon, Michael came to the United States in 1957 and settled in Belmar. He resided in Kearny and Lake Hiawatha prior to moving to Hopatcong in 1969. He was employed as a building mechanic with Local #68 for AT&T in Basking Ridge. Michael was scheduled to be honored in May of this year by Local #68 for 50 years of service. He also was a skilled Volkswagen mechanic and a founding father of the Irish-American Association of Northwest NJ. Devoted husband of 49 years of Mary (Barrett), loving father of Michael, Maggie Rose and husband, Joe, Noreen Waite and Deirdre Anderson and husband, Scott, beloved grandfather of Kelly, Nicki, Thomas, Tara, Elizabeth, Chloe and Sophie, adoring great grandfather of Aiden, dearest brother of John, Pat, Anne, Kathleen and Betty.
