Obituary of Dennis L. Joseph

ROXBURY - Dennis L. Joseph passed away peacefully at his home after a seven year battle with cancer. He was 57. Mr. Joseph was born in Hackensack, NJ in 1954 and raised in Maywood, graduating from Hackensack High School in 1972, and then graduating in 1973 from Trade School at the Passaic School of Drafting. He attended New York City Community College night school in Brooklyn from 1973 to 1975 before transferring to Fairleigh Dickinson University night school in Teaneck majoring in Civil Engineering. Mr. Joseph spent 35 years in the engineering/construction field working on numerous projects nationally. The last 18 years of his career he worked as a Project Executive working in the Tri-State area on many high profile construction projects for Bovis Lend Lease, a globally ranked construction management firm located in Manhattan. Because of health issues, Mr. Joseph retired in 2007. Mr. Joseph resided in Stockholm in Sussex County for 9 years prior to moving to Roxbury in Morris County in 1993. While living in Stockholm, he coached baseball in the 1980's for the Wallkill Valley Little League. Mr. Joseph was a longtime member of the Lake Hopatcong Elks #782 in Mt. Arlington. He is predeceased by his parents; Elizabeth (Farrell) and William Spencer Joseph formerly of Maywood and two brothers; Robert Spencer, formerly of Maywood and Wayne Thomas, formerly of Sussex. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sonia Marie (Doszkewycz) at home. In addition, he is survived by his beloved sister, Alison Coppolecchia of Ridgewood, his daughter, Tara Margaret Joseph of Philadelphia, step-sons and their spouses, Christopher and Dawn Iadarola of Lake Hopatcong and Michael and Danielle Iadarola of Andover and three grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews located in NJ, NY and Pa. Burial at sea will be private.
