Obituary of Richard A. Broadwell

Richard A. Broadwell, of Hopatcong, passed away on Friday May 23 at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Clare's, Dover Campus. He was 61 years of age. Born in Ridgewood, NJ, "Richie" was raised in Wyckoff and resided in Green Pond prior to moving to Hopatcong 20 years ago. He was a graduate of Ramapo Regional High School and worked as a service technician for AC&R in Dover. Richie loved cooking and gardening and was an instrumental and devoted member of AA. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, MaryEllen (Hin), a daughter, Laura Broadwell, a sister, Louise McGarva and husband, Bill and two brothers, Roger Broadwell and Edwin Broadwell and wife, Karen. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to celebrate Richie's life on Wednesday May 28 from 4-8 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, Landing. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday May 29 beginning at 9:30am at St. Jude RC Church, 40 Maxim Drive, Hopatcong, NJ. A one hour reception will take place immediately following Mass at the St. Jude Parish Hall. Richie will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes.
