Obituary of Thomas C. Ballard

Thomas C. Ballard of Byram passed away Thursday July 21, 2011 at home. He was 70. Born in Newark, he lived in Kearny before moving to Byram 33 years ago. He worked for Brink's Armored Car for 20 years prior to his retirement. He then worked as a truck driver for Bridgewater Wholesalers Inc. in Somerset. A Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion, Thomas enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and his dog Maggie. Beloved husband of Elaine (nee: Boehm) Ballard. Devoted father of Kimberly A. Sumski and her husband Jay. Loving step-father of Susan Myers and her husband Mark and Michael Bogdanowicz and his wife Julie. Cherished son of Eleanor (nee: Kubick) Ballard and the late Warder John Ballard. Brother of Carol Stone. Loving grandfather of 8 grandchildren. A Memorial Gathering will he held on Monday July 25 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing with a prayer service at 6:00PM.
