Obituary of Thomas Richard Olezeski

Thomas Richard Olezeski, of Stanhope, passed away Thursday July 7 at Newton Memorial Hospital. He was 62. Born in Jersey City, Mr. Olezeski resided in Bergenfield prior to moving to Stanhope in 1982. He served with the "Sea Wolves" in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1966-69. A decorated veteran, Mr. Olezeski was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross Vietnam Service Medal, Presidential Unit Citation Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation and the Navy Commendation Medal. He was also the recipient of three Purple Hearts. Mr. Olezeski was a self employed contractor, a member of American Legion Post #278 of Stanhope and an avid hunter & outdoorsman. Devoted husband of 30 years of Joanne, Loving father of John Criscione and his wife Bonnie, Thomas Olezeski and his wife Stephanie, Tara Olezeski & her fiance Jason Boyd and Nicole Dolan and her husband Kevin, beloved grandfather of Matthew Olezeski & Brianna Criscione, dearest brother of Arthur Olezeski, Mary Ulanet and Richard Olezeski. Also surviving are many nieces & nephews.
