Obituary of Robin Marie Daum

Robin Marie Daum, 50, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at her home in Hopatcong, NJ surrounded by family and friends from Pancreatic Cancer. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a tribute to her life on Sunday, March 20, 2011 from 1:00pm until 5:00pm at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ 07850, 973-398-3000. A prayer service will be offered at 4:30pm at the funeral home. Robin was born on October 8, 1960 in Summit, NJ and spent most of her life in West Orange before moving to Hopatcong. A graduate of West Orange High School in 1978 and William Patterson College in 1982, she worked part time at Village Supermarket, Shop Rite in South Orange & Chester for 35 years. For the past 13 years, she also worked with special needs students in West Orange School District and PG Chambers School in Cedar Knolls, which she considered one of the joys of her life. A devoted fiancée, daughter, sister and aunt, Robin is survived be her loving soulmate JR Stockley, and her dear mother Barbara M. Daum, loving sister and best friend Bonnie S. Daum and brother-in-law Louis Ruggiero and sister Lisa L. Garcia. She is also survived by her nephew Stephen and her nieces Jaime, Amanda (mini Ya-Ya) and Melissa whom she loved and cherished as if they were her own children. Robin was predeceased by her father Charles A. Daum. Robin was a beautiful woman with a sunny personality. She was always smiling and her presence would light up a room. In addition to her devotion to her family and friends and her passion for her students, she was a life-long fan of Bruce Springsteen and enthusiastically attended many of his concerts with her fiancée and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Robin Marie Daum to The Morristown Memorial Health Foundation, Carol G. Simon Cancer Center for Pancreatic Cancer, PO Box 1956, Morristown, NJ 07962-1956, an organization which was very helpful to her. Robin will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A light has truly left this world.
