Obituary of Raymond Dewar

Raymond Dewar Sr. of Upper Mt. Bethel PA died peacefully Friday, March 11, 2011 at home. Born in Orange, NJ he grew up in Caldwell. After his honorable discharge from the Army in 1953 he moved to Verona until 1973. he then resided in Essex Fells until 2001, then in Glasser until 2008 and then to Upper Mount Bethel, PA. He was a gas service man for PSE&G in Orange until his retirement. An Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, Raymond was a member of the American Legion #1533 in Mastic Beach NY. He also was an Eagle Scout, a member of the Hopatcong Seniors, a past member of the Essex Fells NJ Auxiliary Police Department and played for the NY Giants Practice Squad. Beloved husband of the late Janet and the late Rosalie Dewar. He was predeceased by his brother Douglas and his son William. He is survived by his brother Paul. Raymond is survived by his sons Raymond Jr. and wife Terrie, and Matthew and his daughters Mary Ellen Higgins and husband Peter, Melissa Golden and Katherine Cooke and husband David. He is the loving grandfather of 15 as well as the loving great grandfather of 11.
