Obituary of Constance Janowski

Constance T. Janowski, of Hopatcong, passed away on Tuesday May 6, 2014. She was 76. Born in Perth Amboy on October 17, 1937 to the late Theodore and Antoinette Makowski, Connie resided in Hopatcong since 1969. Connie served in the United States Army. She was a registered nurse at Dover General Hospital for 20 years and then retired from Lyons VA Hospital in Basking Ridge. Connie was an active member of her community. She was a member of BPO Elks Lodge #782 in Mt. Arlington where she served as President of the Ladies' Auxiliary. She was a member of the Hopatcong Seniors, serving as President and Vice President for 6 years. Connie also served on the Hopatcong Mayor's Council for 6 years. Devoted wife of Martin, Loving mother of Joseph of Ashley, PA, Mary Novak and husband, Michael of Blairstown and Anne Drescher and husband, Paul of Blairstown, adoring grandmother of 8 grandchildren, Alaina, Christopher, Gregory, Rebecca, Julia Novak, Madelynn, Jack and Vivian Drescher. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to pay your respects to Connie's life on Friday May 9 from 4-8 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, Landing. A Liturgy of Catholic burial will be offered on Saturday May 10 beginning at 10:00 am at St. Jude Church in Hopatcong. Family and friends may begin gathering at the funeral home at 9:00 am prior to Mass. Connie will be laid to rest on Monday May 12 at Hillside Cemetery in Lyndhurst at 11:30 am.
