Obituary of LaVern Truax
LaVern "Skip" Truax of Hopatcong beloved husband and friend, died Sunday, January 30, 2011 at home. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Barbara.
He was 90.
Born in Scotts, Michigan, he lived in Rutherford before moving to Hopatcong 30 years ago.
A Navy veteran, Skip was a Pearl Harbor survivor and saw action in both the Pacific and Mediterranean during World War II.
Skip enjoyed gardening around his home, and always kept the feeders full for the many birds and animals that paid regular visits to the property. He was a member of Grace - The Church on the Mount in Netcong for over 25 years, where he made hundreds of friends, and will be fondly remembered for his generous and encouraging spirit.
