Obituary of John William Vandervelden

John William Vandervelden, of Mt. Arlington, passed away Friday, January 21, 2011 at Newton Memorial Hospital. He was 79 years old. Born in Arnhem, Netherlands. Mr. Vandervelden came to the United States in 1956. He resided in Flanders before moving to Mt. Arlington 10 years ago. He was an Executive Chef for the Morris County Golf Club in Convent Station. He was an avid sailor and enjoyed model trains. Loving husband of Rita (Janssen). Beloved father of John M. and his wife Catherine, Robert and his wife Laura, Jane Klein and her husband Donald and Elizabeth Flad and her husband John. Dear brother of Louis van der Velden, Michael van der Velden and Elizabeth Hendriks. Cherished grandfather of 6 and an adoring great grandfather of 2.
