Born in Garfield Heights, OH, Mr. Smilor resided in Fairlawn, NJ prior to moving to Hopatcong in 1959. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1951 -1953 as a diesel mechanic. He was a devoted family man whose greatest joy was time spent with his family, especially his grandkids. Mr. Smilor was predeceased by his daughter Donna Marie in 1964 and his nine siblings. Loving husband of Lorraine with whom he would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on March 17, 2011. Beloved father of Vicki Kufta and her husband Richard and Linda Smilor-Viganola. Adoring grandfather of Joseph and Emily Viganola & Samantha and Jamie Kufta.
