Obituary of Michael J. Kierney

Michael J. Kierney, of Hopatcong, died Tuesday December 14 at Newton Memorial Hospital. He was 63 years old. Born in Jersey City, Mr. Kierney grew up in North Arlington prior to moving to Hopatcong in 1974. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1964-1967 earning the rank of Boatswains Mate. He worked as a Route Salesman for Drakes Bakeries in Little Falls. He was a parishioner of St. Jude RC Church in Hopatcong, a member of their Knights of Columbus Council and volunteered many years with the Hopatcong Little League baseball program. Loving husband of JoAnn (Kopec), beloved father of Scott & his wife Aimee, Samantha McCann & her husband James and Victor Michael II. Adoring grandfather of Anthony, Ava, Madison and Julia. Dear brother of Maryann MacDonald, Robert and David. He was predeceased by a son, Michael.
