Obituary of Alma Lawrey

M. Alma Lawrey, 90, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at St Claire's Hospital Dover Campus. She was a lifetime resident of Stanhope. She graduated from Netcong High School, class of 1940, and Sherwood Business School. She worked for the Office of Price Administration during World War II, Stanhope Post Office, Salmon Oil Co. for over 30 years and Frederick's Fuel Co. until retirement. A member of the First Presbyterian Church in Stanhope, she belonged to the Order of Eastern Star, Starlight Chapter #107 for 54 years, Worthy Matron twice and treasurer for nearly 30 years. Also treasurer of Club 107, and member of PM & PP Association. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward in 2006 and son Glenn in 2007. She is survived by two daughters, Gail Esposito and husband Alfred and Sharon Buchanan, both of Stanhope. Also, two grandchildren, Lynn Ensman (Tom) of Franklinville, NJ and Gary Esposito (Laura) of Cortland, IL and three great-grandchildren, Jamie and Jenna Esposito and Ashley Ensman. Also a great-great-grandchild, Chloe and step-granddaughter Julie Serfess of Chatham.
