Obituary of Samuel A. D'Auria

Samuel A. D'Auria of East Stroudsburg, PA, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 surrounded by family after a courageous battle against cancer.Born August 22, 1932 in Morristown, N.J., Sam lived most of his life in Netcong, NJ, before moving to East Stroudsburg, PA. He retired in 2007 from Kenvil Power Mower where he worked as a salesman for over 35 years. Mr. D'Auria served in the Korean War in the 2nd Infantry Division and was awarded the Purple Heart and other distinguished service metals. He was proud to have served his country. Sam was an avid Giants fan who realized his dream of witnessing a New York Giants Superbowl victory in 2008. Sam's love and passion was his family and he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Proud to be an American, he enjoyed reading American History. Surviving are his devoted wife of 50 years, Violet A.; three daughters, Alice T. and her husband David P. Romano of Lafayette; Anna M. and her husband William Silverman of Lafayette; Heidi M. Pearsall and her husband Richard A. Pearsall Jr. of Flanders; six grandchildren Alexander Romano, Matthew Silverman, Samantha Silverman, Lily Silverman; Richard A. Pearsall, III and Alyson M. Pearsall; a brother Peter A. of Blairstown; and two sisters, Mary Peer of Blairstown and Patricia A. Garrison and her husband Paul of Landing.
