Sam, I was sorry to learn of your passing. You were a special person and I have fond memories of you as we developed a friendship when you appeared in Court as Roxbury's Zoning Inspector. You were always fair and had a kindness for the folks you dealt with. May God bless you and keep you and his peace and love be with you and your family.

I worked with Sam in Roxbury as the Zoning Officer and he was a good friend. He was a wonderful man and he surely will be missed. Now that I have moved down the shore I am sorry I could not be there but he always talked about his family. I remember when you gave him the airplane lesson. Dolores DeMasi

Sam was a true gentleman. What a sweetheart. I met him when he came in to the Ledgewood Walmart and always brightened my day. I'd always get a hug and a smile.
It was so easy, no matter how rough the day was to smile back at him. He was just that special. He will be truly missed.

Sam will truly be missed! He was one of the kindest, fun loving men I have had the honor of knowing. He always made us feel that he was genuinely glad to see us by his smile and his hugs. The world was a better place for having had Sam Wilson in it. My thoughts and prayers are with Sam's family but I know that he is in a place of peace and love, dancing with his beautiful Alice. This is farewell for now Sam, but you will always be with us in our hearts.

We are lucky to have been able to claim Sam as "part of our family" and to have been able to create some wonderful memories with him. He'll forever remain in our hearts and minds -- especially on Christmas, the 4th of July, and at Doug's Fish Fry. We are so thankful to the Wilson "kids" (especially Cindy and Jack) for sharing him with us. Whenever we got to spend time with Sam, we felt loved and appreciated. In return, we couldn't help but love him right back. Sam, you will be missed by all of us here in NY. With love -- Peg, Al, Kim, Hailey and Juliana

I have many fond memories of growing up on Mapledale Avenue. If I was riding my bike to the Little Red Restaurant & see Mr. Wilson, he would always say, Hi Bobbie and I would say to Mr. Wilson, my name is Barbara. He would always answer, I know, but you are Bobbie to me. I couldn't argue with him. He is the only person that ever called me that. I have always had great respect for him and always will. With great sadness and a heavy heart, he will be greatly missed. With love from, Bobbie, the Fortner and Wildrick families.

"Mr. Sam", as my family called him, was the first person to welcome us to Mapledale Ave. I remember that day vividly as he told me how wonderful an area it was to raise a family. In the years that followed my two boys would yell "Mr. Sam!", stop whatever they were doing and run out to say hello as he went by on his daily walks, often with a neighbor's dog. He always took the time to stop and talk and listen to my boys' stories and made them feel special. His passing leaves an emptiness on Mapledale Ave and we will miss him dearly. Thank you Mr. Sam for always making us feel so welcome here.

Sam was a true gentleman. He walked down our street every day with a happy smile and a warm hello ... And usually with a dog. My children, wife and I always enjoyed a quick chat with Sam. He made us feel so welcome. We will truly miss him, but always smile at the memory of him. We are lucky to have known him!
