Obituary of Helen E. Schomp

Helen E. (Faschan) Schomp, 90, of Fredon Township, formerly of Netcong, passed away on April 3, 2010 at Newton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was born on March 13, 1920 in Jamaica, Queens, NY to the late Frances and Adam Faschan and resided in Netcong for over 60 years prior to moving to Fredon Twp. four years ago. She was predeceased by her husband Clifford "Nip" Schomp in 1991. She is survived by her brother Lawrence Faschan of Netcong, two daughters, Diane Hajtovik of Netcong and Elaine Soroka and her husband Raymond of Fredon; her grandchildren: Leigh Anne Soroka, Melissa and David Williams, Raymond Soroka, John Hajtovik, Alan Hajtovik and Lisa Holt, Paul Hajtovik and Denise Lewis and Keri Hajtovik and six great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Michael Church Rosary Altar Society and Netcong/Stanhope Senior Citizens Club. In 1960 she started the St. Michael School Library which she ran for 15 years.
