Mary, I'll never forgive myself for not getting more marmalade to you! We saved a jar that the kids made at Christmas and planned to send a care package. Oh, what silly things did I do instead of that? Perspective! That is one of the many gifts you shared with us. You reminded us at every turn to keep our chins up and keep on persevering. From the early morning swims in the pool to your resolve to climb that ladder to hang Christmas lights, you never gave up. And you always thought of others. We always will cherish the notes you left for us - the maps with directions about public transportation and local resources when we first moved to Cottage Street, the cute pictures of the kids on their first day of school, your thoughtful birthday cards, the personalized Halloween treat bags ... you are a gem! Thank you for blessing our lives and reminding us what a truly great human being is. It has been an honor to be your friend, and we will miss you. But you deserve to be free so you can continue your adventures. You're a spitfire, and we love you!
