Obituary of Stephen G. Douglas

Stephen G. Douglas, Jr. died Tuesday September 29, 2009 at St. Clare's Hospital in Dover. He was 81 years old. Born in Bevans, NJ, Mr. Douglas resided in Mt. Arlington, NJ and Bonita Springs, FL before moving to the Landing section of Roxbury Township four years ago. Mr. Douglas worked as a pipefitter/plumber at Bell Labs in Whippany. He was a volunteer and troop leader for both the Mt. Arlington Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts for many years. He was also a member of the Ironia Whreelers Square Dancing Club in Ironia, NJ. Loving husband of Ruth (Elsum). Beloved father of Stephen G. III, John, James (Jed), David and Scott. Adoring grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Sandy Conkling, the late Thomas and the late Stewart. Also surviving are many cousins, nieces and nephews.
