Obituary of Gloria Frances Robson

Gloria Frances Robson (nee Current) of Landing, formerly of Hopatcong, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 20, 2009 at St. Clare's Hospital, Denville. Born on September 27, 1931 in Middletown, NY. She was the daughter of the late Roy Linn Current and Myrtie Frances Current. Gloria was raised in Newton, NJ where she graduated from high school, and later earned her certificate of nursing. Through the years, Gloria worked as a registered nurse at Twin Castle Nursing Home, Merry Heart and Andover Nursing home. Her greatest joy came from the time spent raising her seven children. Upon her retirement from nursing she turned her attention back to full time homemaking and her grandchildren. Suffering from declining health, Gloria found comfort through her faith in God and the faithful presence of her canine companions, Bella and Minnie. Her husband James honored his vows to love her in sickness and in health while lovingly caring for her during her struggle with COPD. Gloria is survived by her beloved husband James, with whom she celebrated 55 years of marriage in 2008. In addition to her husband she is survived by six daughters, Sheryl McMillan of Landing, Kim Fitzgerald (Patrick) of Downington, PA, Joanne Bixby (Edgar) of Landing, Stacey Dellavecchia (Matthew) of Roxbury Township, Lisa Robson of Dover and Karen Timpani (Raymond) of Randolph; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, James, in 1993 and her son-in-law, William McMillan in 2008.
