Obituary of Anthony M. Togno

Anthony M. Togno of Port Morris died Thursday July 9, 2009 at St. Clare's Hospital, Denville. He was 82. Born in Port Morris, he was a lifelong resident. He worked for the Morris County Bridge Department and retired as Foreman after 32 years of service. He attended Roxbury schools and the Casey Jones School of Aeronautics. After working at the Rome Airfield in Rome NY he enlisted in the US Navy and served during World War II in the Asian Pacific Theater on the cruiser USS Los Angeles. He was a member of the Roxbury Fire Department Co. No. 2 for over 55 years, a member of the Roxbury Exempt Fireman's Association, a life member delegate to the NJ Fireman's Association and a member of the American Legion Post 0278 in Stanhope. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening and traveling and visiting many places throughout the United States and Europe. Beloved husband for 59 years of Mary (nee: Alba). Devoted father of Marianne Paradiso and her husband Nick Amandos of Byram and the late Anthony M., Jr.. Loving grandfather of Michael and Matthew Paradiso. Cherished son of the late Michelina (nee: Ferriero) and the late Frank Togno. Dear brother of Congetta Cicchetti, Mildred Togno and the late Thomas and the late Angelo Togno. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and godchildren.
