Obituary of William Vegso

William Vegso of Charlotte NC died Friday July 4, 2008 at the Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. He was 87. Born in Dover NJ, he was a longtime resident of Mt. Arlington before moving to Charlotte four years ago. He was a central office telecommunications foreman for Picatinny Arsenal, retiring in 1974. A proud member of the Army of the United States, he served 31 months in China-India-Burma Theatre of operations during World War II as a Staff Sergeant and was awarded 2 battle stars. He also was an avid NY Mets fan and spent many happy nights fishing for catfish in Lake Hopatcong, NJ. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Shirley (nee: Peterson) who died in 1996. Devoted father of William and his wife Maria of Charlotte NC. Loving grandfather of Stephanie Palumbo, Adrianna and Eliza Vegso. Cherished great grandfather of Angelina Palumbo.
