Obituary of Robert J. Walsh

Robert J. Walsh, Sr., age 71, of Hopatcong, passed away on Saturday September 27, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his family. Born in Brooklyn, Bob has resided in Hopatcong for many years. He was a volunteer firefighter with Hopatcong Hills Company #4 for 40 years. He retired from his employment with the Mountain Lakes Board of Education. Bob was predeceased by his mother, Geraldine Dougherty Devoted husband of Muriel A. (Hynes), beloved father of Robert J. Walsh, Jr. and Patricia A. Rudio and her husband, Gary and adoring grandfather of Matthew, Samantha and Stephanie Walsh and Megan and Aislinn Rudio. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a celebration of Bob's life on Friday October 3 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing. A funeral prayer service will be offered on Saturday October 4 beginning at 10:30 am at the funeral home immediately followed by Firemen's last call at Hopatcong Hills Fire Company #4.
