Obituary of Howard E. Franciscus

Howard E. Franciscus died Friday May 16 at his home in Hopatcong. He was 79 years old. Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Howard and Mary (Quinn), Mr. Franciscus resided there prior to moving to Hopatcong in 1973. He served with the 7th Regiment of the NY National Guard. He was a commercial Insurance Broker and Senior Vice President for the Aon Corporation in New York, NY prior to his retirement in 1998. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council and the St. Vincent DePaul Society both in Brooklyn, NY. He was also an avid reader and history buff. Loving husband of 55 years of Marion (O'Farrell), beloved father of Jeanne Grau and her husband John, John Franciscus, Virginia Doran and her husband Glenn, Mary Betsy and her husband Stephen and Robert Franciscus and his wife Kathleen. Adoring grandfather of Robert, Brian, Meghan, Maggie, Bridget, Ted, Jack, Colette and Aidan. Dear brother of Margaret, the late John and the late Sister Mary.
