Obituary of Vincent P. Serpe

Vincent P. Serpe of the Cranberry Lake Section of Byram Twp., NJ passed away on Wednesday, April 1st at Morristown Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was 91. Vincent was born in Bayonne, NJ to the late Ralph Serpe and the late Lucy(Giordano) Serpe. He was a dispatcher for 35 years for Charles Bahr Lumber in Verona, NJ where he was known as "Moose". Vincent also operated his own construction company and was responsible for many area homes including his own in Cranberry Lake. He enjoyed fishing, swimming and boating. He especially enjoyed his time on Cranberry Lake and in Marco Island and Naples Florida. Most importantly he loved and cherished his family. Vincent proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Force. Vincent is survived by his beloved wife of 71years, Mary (Piccolo), his devoted daughters; Lucille Dotterweich and her husband, Dan, Rosalie Andresky and MaryAnn Ferrucci and her husband, Albert and his brother, Phil Serpe. Additional survivors include, his cherished grandchildren, Debbie, Danny, Laura, Vinnie, Jackie, Christina and Alyssa, his great-grandchildren, Frankie, Stephanie, Steven, Daniel, Lauren, Taylor, Kristen, Faith, and Morgan, many cousins, nieces and nephews and his faithful canine companion, Beau. He was pre-deceased by his step-mother, Marion and his sister, Theresa Walsh. Vincent's Life Celebration will include visitation on Monday, April 6th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ . There will be a funeral mass on Tuesday, April 7th at 10:00 am at St. Jude Parish, 17 Mount Olive Road, Budd Lake, NJ. Family and friends are invited to meet directly at the church on Tuesday morning. Vincent will be laid to rest at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ.
